Season 20 – Bayern Munich, Bundesliga

Media Prediction: 1st from 18

Board Expectations: Win the league

I took over at Bayern when they were on the crest of a wave. They had won the last 3 Bundesliga titles, and completed building a new stadium with a capacity of 90k.

The bank balance is a healthy £118m too, and the previous manager had organised the signing of a wonderkid striker from West Ham before he left.

The season was a good one, and we managed to retain the title reasonably comfortably. The Champions League was good fun while it lasted, but our run was ended in the quarter final stage by Fenerbahce.

Having not won the DFB Pokal since 2023, we managed to put that right this year, with a 6-2 win in the final against Hertha Berlin.

WonderHammer scored 32 goals and came up with 27 assists in all this season, which is great as he should only get better as he matures. If only he was my signing!

Season 21 – Bayern Munich, Bundesliga

Media Prediction: 2nd from 18

Board Expectations: Win the league

After the excellent season we just had I decided to splash some cash to try and take us to the next level in Europe. I spent £20m to reunite me with the Argentine striker I sold to Valencia whilst at River, and I also started the process of unsettling the 22 year old DC at River who was valued at £29m.

At the halfway point and mid-season break we were sat in 2nd place to Leverkusen, but just 2 points behind. Still, I was unhappy with some of our performances, and in particular our defending, so I placed a £30m bid for the River DC.

They rejected so I adjusted my transfer budget to £40m and offered that. They told me they wanted £66m so I told them where to go, and I decided to tweak my tictacs instead.

The change had a good effect on us as we went the entire second half of the season unbeaten, including Champions League matches. We won the Bundesliga at a canter, and secured the double with a 4-0 win over Dortmund.

I was hopeful of a good Champions League campaign, and we sailed through our group to build up optimism. In the first knockout round we faced Fenerbahce, and revenge was on the agenda. We just managed to squeak by 6-5 on aggregate and set up a tie against Real Madrid.

This proved to be much easier thanks to a dodgy red card to Real’s star right back in the second leg. Man City then came and went in the semis and we faced Hoffenheim in the final.

Leading the game 1-0 at half time, I made a dodgy choice of team talk, Hoff levelled and looked a far more likely winner than us.

We managed to hold in there until full time, but things didn’t improve greatly in the first half of extra time and I was worried when the Hoff took the lead. I threw on WonderHammer at half time in extra time and he repaid my faith almost instantly with an equaliser.

No more score in extra time meant we went to penalties, and I was actually relieved about that!

All 5 of my penalty takers held their nerve, and with my ‘keeper saving Hoff’s 3rd penalty we won the Champions League for the first time since 2001 \o/
